Project Coordinator (English version)
RCT is seeking a project co-ordinator to oversee the implementation of activities in North Africa for 18 months. The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is to be filled no later than 1st February 2012.
From 2012 to 2014 RCT will implement a large-scale programme in
North Africa with the puropse of preventing torture and providing
rehabilitation services to men, women and children who have been
subjected to or otherwise affected by torture. The programme
focuses on Egypt, Libya and Tunesia and comprises certain
cross-regional activities.
Our new colleague will mainly work on our Egypt country
programme and our regional activities. Moreover s/he will assist
with other development tasks in our International Department. S/he
will be part of our Middle East Team and will also work closely
with RCT's in-house health professionals and legal advisers.
Areas of responsibility
- Developing, planning and implementing country-specific as well
as regional activities;
- Establishing and developing collboration with local
organisations, including with regard to planning capacity building
in relevant professional areas;
- Preparing project proposals , contracts and budgets;
- Monitoring programme activities and reporting to donors;
- In collaboration with RCT's Communications department,
conveying information on relevant challenges and achivements to
Danish and foreign media.
Required skills and experience
The applicant must:
- Hold an academic degree in the area of international
development, politics, economics and/or human rights;
- Have solid experience with implementing international
development projects;
- Have excellent written and spoken English (native language or
equivalent level);
- Have a deep understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration
and excellent intercultural skills;
- Be assertive and able to work independently, at times under
considerable time pressure.
In addition the ideal applicant:
- Has working experience from in the MENA region;
- Is able to work in Arabic and/or French.

Salary and employment:
The position is remunerated according to labour agreement
between the Danish Ministry of Finance and The Danish Federation of
Professional Associations.
RCT has flex time.
