Research:
Master of Science project: 'Torture survivors: Pain
Pattern and Disability'.
Ph.d. thesis: 'Falanga torture: Pain, pain mechanisms and
disability' (forthcoming).
Clinical experience:
Since 1992 I have worked with the rehabilitation of
torture victims. My professional interest and clinical
experience is in musculo-skeletal pain problems. My other area of
focus is the field of resource-orientated physiotherapy
(body-awareness therapy). Both focus areas are relevant for RCTs
clients.
Lecturing and clinical practice:
Lectures have been held at world congresses of the World
Confederation for Physical Therapists, at RCT workshops and many
other fora both in Denmark and in the South. The main topics have
been torture and sequelae after torture, physiotherapy for torture
survivors and pain mechanisms.
