Research My research is ethnographic It focuses on the following
three issues: Firstly, how people live with and construct
lives in situations characterized by torture and organized violence
and secondly how torture, violence and suffering is distributed in
social worlds and thirdly how local and regional therapeutic
responses are formed. These issues I see through the prisms of
subjectivity, identification, social networks and relations. I have
carried out fieldwork in El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru and
collaborated on research in Palestine. I also do evaluations on
human rights interventions and the prevention of torture and
organized violence.
